National Congress: Opposition Stances on the Elections are Shaky

Khartoum, Mar. 28 (SUNA)- The National Congress has ridiculed the allegations given by Saddiq Al-Mahdi against it, and his claim that the National Congress is receiving support from the Zionist entity
In a press statement at the headquarters of the

National Congress Sunday, the Secretary of the Mobilization Secretariat, Haj Majid Suwar, said that such a claim of Saddiq Al-Mahdi is ironic
He said that any one is aware that Israel can not support the National Congress, especially that the Israeli Security Minister said few months ago that Israel is working at a number of areas, including the Sudanese arena to fuel more seditions and disturbance for weakening Sudan government, therefore the claim of Saddiq Al-Mahdi is comical and refuted
Haj Majid Suwar said that the call for postponement of the elections is lacking objectivity, especially the call for postponement of the elections till next November adding delay of the elections for seven years will not enough for the opposition to get ready for running in the elections
He said that the opposition parties will suffer much if they tended to withdraw from the elections because their withdrawal will be regarded as fleeing from the election process and the competition arena. Suwar stated that the opposition parties are adopting very shaky positions and hesitating between either to go ahead in the election process, the postponement or the boycott, adding that any of these three options is different from the other two
Responding to a question, he said that the position of Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM), which is the partner of the National Congress, is not clear as the movement in sometimes stands for the postponement and in other times supports the stance of the government and also stands in support of Juba parties in sometimes, but the official stance of the SPLM is its stand in favour of holding the elections in the fixed time
He said that the SPLM did not inform the National Congress up to now about its call for the elections' postponement
