Khartoum, March. 16 (SUNA) - The independent candidate for the presidency of the republic, Dr. Kamil Idris, has described the coming general elections as important step for the world's openness toward Sudan and a consensus on the adoption of the
peaceful democratic transformation
Interviewed by SUNA, Dr. Idris said that his election program targets the Sudanese citizen, political reform, the non- politicization of the civil service, independence of Judiciary and promotion of Army
On the economy, Dr. Idris pointed out that he gives top priority to the economy because it turns the developing countries into industrialized ones and it plays key role in combating poverty which causes disputes and fighting
He called for the expansion of the medical services, promotion of the health insurance and improvement of the doctors' salaries, calling for the implementation of the Comprehensive peace Agreement (CPA) and giving the South priority with regard to loans to rebuild confidence and to motivate the southerners to vote for unity
He affirmed his support the current peace talks in Doha, participation of the people of Darfur, housing of the internally - displaced people and compensating for the dispute-affected people
