Khartoum, Mar. 15 (SUNA)- The Swedish Minister of International Development, Gunilla Carlsson, has affirmed the support of her country to the implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) on ground that it is the guarantee for realizing stability
and development in Sudan
In a briefing to the press at the residence of the Ambassador of Sweden to Sudan Monday, the Swedish minister said that her country, which the current chairman of the European Union, supports holding of a free and fair elections in Sudan
She said that Sweden will send a mission to monitor the elections in Sudan, adding that Sudan is capable to overcome the challenges facing it
Meanwhile, she said that the humanitarian situation in Darfur is still posing a source of obsession to the international community due to the negative impacts of the dispute in the region
The Swedish minister said that her visit to Sudan comes in the context of the bilateral relations between Sweden and Sudan, indicating that she will visit Darfur and Juba to be informed about the real situation on the ground
