Renk, Mar. 14 (SUNA)- President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, inaugurated Sunday Renk electricity project in the Upper Nile State which would provide 120 megawatts and will be linked to the National Electricity Network and Merowe Russaires Dams
Addressing a mass rally in Renk after
inauguration of the electricity project, President Al-Bashir renewed his call for the southerners to work for making unity as the best choice through the coming referendum
He said that the achieved peace in the south will greatly contribute to the provision of basic services in the in the south
President Al-Bashir said that the Upper Nile area is one of stability and peaceful co-existence and witnessed establishment of an airport for exporting products to the north, adding that the road was asphalted to extend to Bahral-Ghazal area
He affirmed the keenness of the state to rehabilitate all the agricultural schemes at the area
Meanwhile, the Minister of Energy and Mining, Al-Zubair Ahmed Al-Hassan, said that the electricity project extends to 600 kilometers, and was established at the cost of 112 million euros
