This came when Dr. Nafie received at the Republican Palace Tuesday the delegation of the European Union (EU) assigned to participate in the monitoring of the coming elections chaired by Chief Observer, Veronique De Keyser and her Assistant, Maria Espinosa
Dr.Nafie expressed his appreciation over the concern given by the EU to the elections, affirming the government keenness to hold the elections in Darfur and to remove any obstacle in this connection
The EU official affirmed the independence and neutrality of the mission, hoping that she will meet all the leaders of the parties and the political forces to brief them on the role of the mission which is composed of 130 observers for observing the general elections in Sudan
