Khartoum, Feb. 28 (SUNA) - The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mutrif Siddiq received Sunday Deputy Representative of the United Nations Secretary General in Sudan and reviewed the current developments in Sudan and the work of the United Nations Mission in Sudan (UNIMIS) in south Sudan
The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Muawiya Osman Khalid, said that the meeting tackled executive and administrative issues relating to the UNIMIS activities, adding that Dr. Siddig conveyed to the international official the government's appreciation to the efforts being exerted by the mission in south Sudan in support of the elections
He said that Dr. Siddiq affirmed at the meeting the holding of the elections in its fixed time under the current stability of the situation in Darfur and the end of war and disputes in the region, expressing the government's readiness to extend every possible assistances to make a success the work of the mission
