The main points of first deliberation Kadugli, Feb. 28 (SUNA)- The First Deliberations Conference of the Bordering States held in the town of Kadugli from the 27th to the 28th of current February, 2010, closed its sessions and issued its recommendations and final communiqué
The Conference which was held under the supervision of the

 First Vice President of the Republic Salva Kiir Mayardit, and was co- chaired by the Vice President of the Republic Ali Osman Mohamed Taha and the Vice President of the Government of Southern Sudan, Dr Rick Machar, was organized by the National Council for Strategic Planning in collaboration with the Council of Ministers and the Federal Ministry of Finance and National Economy and the Ministry for Federal Government and the National Fund for Boosting the Unity
Leading political figures executives, and public figures in the federal government and the government of southern Sudan took part in the conference which was focused on the ten bordering states, namely South Kordufan, north and West Bahar Gazal, South Darfur, Warap, Unity, Upper Nile , the White Nile Sinnar, and the Blue Nile with the participation of former Burundi President Pierre Buyoya and the United Nations organizations
The conference was held in implementation of the recommendations of the second round table which was held in the town of Wau in 2009 with the view to cement the pillars of peace and to speed up the steps for fusion and intermingling between the citizens of the same homeland and to achieve development, beside the quest to boost the peace, stability and security in the region for a sustainable peace under a united and strong Sudan
The conference was addressed by the governor of south Kordufan state Ahmed Mohamed Haroon, who welcomed the participants and expressed happiness that the conference was being held in the town of Kadugli, capital of South Kordufan
The Minister for Finance and National Economy, Dr Awad Ahmed Al Jazz, has meanwhile stressed the importance of the conference and the need for the coexistence between the citizens of the same homeland as well as the realization of peace and stability
He underlined the need to put a plan that would cement the unity of the homeland and particularly in the intermingling states
The Vice President of the Government of South Sudan, Dr Rick Machar, has expressed his happiness about the convening of the conference, stressing the importance of achieving unity and stability among the bordering states and the cooperation and coordination among them for the wellbeing of the citizens in those states
The Vice President of the Republic, Ali Osman Mohamed Taha, has pointed to the timing of the conference at a time the country is earnestly working to implement the Comprehensive Peace Agreement and holding of the general elections , cementing bonds of relationship, achieving development, stability and progress
He said it was important that these states should cooperate in the various domains particularly in the areas of security, development, infrastructures and transportations
He said unity should be given a priority in the deliberations of the conference as the CPA urges for exerting much efforts for the unity and for the menace surrounding
The Conference tackled a number of papers including: the Future Vision of the Bordering States Within the Context of the National Strategy, presented by Dr Tajul Sir Mustafa, the Secretary General of the National Council for Strategic Planning , the Peaceful Coexistence in the Bordering States, presented by the Minister for Federal Government, the Role of the Fund for Boosting the Unity in Strengthening Peace, Development and Unity, the Role of the Infrastructures in Boosting Peace and Development, the Role of the Ministry of Mining and Energy in the Development of the Bordering States, the Social Interaction in the Intermingling Areas, the Horizons of Agricultural Development in those states, and the last paper was about the Investment Opportunities in the States, the Blue Nile State as a Case Study.
