Khartoum, Feb. 28 (SUNA)- The Sudan Media and Elections Consortium and in cooperation with the National Elections Commission (NEC) and the UNDP Elections Project will launch a project titled "Media and the Elections'' in Sudan at Rotana Hotel - Khartoum on Monday 1 March 2010 at 10:00am
The program will include a presentation of the

project as well as the consortium and will provide an opportunity for the press as well as other stakeholders to post questions and suggestions on the project
Participants in the programme include representatives Of the NEC, UNDP and the International Media Support
The programme include technical presentation of the project in English and Arabic and a press conference
The Media and Elections Project aims to promote fair and transparent elections in Sudan by supporting the Sudanese media in ensuring professional and fair coverage of the April 2010 elections in Sudan
The project offers training on election reporting for journalists and media houses across Sudan. Additionally, local organizations will be trained to monitor Sudanese media's coverage of the elections
The Media and Elections Project, funded by UNDP, is a joint initiative of six national and international organizations
