Khartoum, Feb. 28 (SUNA) - President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, was briefed Sunday on the preparations for the holding a conference of Sudan's ambassadors in Asian countries, scheduled to begin in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on March 13 in presence of the State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ali Ahmed Karti. President Al-Bashir was acquainted also
with the preparations for holding the conference of investment and development in Comoros Islands, due to be hosted in Doha, Qatar, on March 9 with the participation of the Minister of International cooperation, Dr. Al-Tigani Salih Fedail, and Sudanese businessmen. This came when the President received Sunday at his office at the Republican Palace the State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ali Ahmed Karti, who said the conference of the Sudanese Ambassadors across Asia, the 2nd conference to be held during the last four years, would focus on boosting of economic relations and attracting investment as part of Sudan's policy to go eastward, referring to Sudan's open relations with China, Malaysia, Pakistan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Korea, Japan, etc. The minister said in a statement to SUNA that the conference of Malaysia will witness many new ideas with regard to the role of the embassies in attracting investments in the coming period; particularly that the country is witnessing stability and was not affected by the global economic crisis.
