Taha has commended the spirit of responsibility that reigned during the sessions of the First Deliberation Conference of the Bordering States, which wound
session in the town of Kadugli on Sunday
He stressed that the recommendations and the resolutions of the conference have to be submitted to the federal government and to the southern Sudan government and permeate to all government levels so that people would be aware of and implement them
He said the conference should have a mechanism that will follow up the implementation of the recommendations and resolutions adopted by the conference
He commended the participation of the former Burundi president Pierre Buyoya in the deliberation of the conference and the positive impact it has over the meeting
The Vice President of the government of southern Sudan, Dr Rick Machar has meanwhile pointed to the influence of the bordering states saying they were the ones that would help bring stability to the whole country when they themselves enjoy stability and peace
He urged for speeding up the process of implementation of the DDR particularly in the state of south Kordufan so as to help curb the spread of firearms among the civilians
He expressed his thanks and appreciation for the governor of south Kordufan state and his deputy for their resilience to prepare and to convene the conference in such a good way that its outcome was distinguished and helped reach these important recommendations and resolutions
