Khartoum, Jan. 29 (SUNA) - President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, Friday left for the Ethiopian Capital, Addis Ababa, to partake in the 14th African Union's Summit, which is expected to focus on information technology in Africa.
In a press statement at Khartoum Airport SUNA, the Presidential Advisor, Dr. Mustafa Osman Ismail, said that President Al-Bashir will also participate in the ordinary African Union Summit and other summits which are scheduled to be held on the sidelines of the African Union's Summit, represented in the 39th Summit of the Second Steering Committee of the New Economic Partnership in Africa (NEPAD), the Summit of the African Peers Mechanism and the Summit of the Alliance of the African Head of States for Combating Malaria which includes 27 African country. Dr. Ismail said that President Al-Bashir will meets on the sidelines of the summits with a number of African leaders to deliberate about issues in the agenda of the summits at the African level, besides the developments in Sudan. He said that the agenda of the African Summit includes reports of the African Peace and Security Council on conflicts in Africa, the situation in Darfur and implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA). President Al-Bashir was accompanied by a high level delegation, which included the Minister at the Presidency of the Republic, Gen. Bakri Hassan Salih, the Presidential Advisor, Dr. Ghazi Salahuddin, the Presidential Advisor, Dr. Mustafa Osman Ismail, the Minister of Information and Communication, Al-Zahawi Ibrahim Malik, the Minister of Foreign Trade and other senior officials.
