Khartoum, Jan. 28 (SUNA)- President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, has directed the Walis (governors) of the state to pave the way for the voting of citizens in the coming elections and to provide security for conducting the elections smoothly toward boosting the democratic transformation process.
This came at the regular sitting of the Council of Ministers, which was chaired by President Al-Bashir. Meanwhile, the Council of Ministers reviewed a report on the economic and financial performance and the manpower development in the northern states for the year 2009, which was presented by the Minister of Federal Government, Gen. Abdul-Rahaman Saeed. The Cabinet gave a directive for implementing a serious programme for eradication of illiteracy within one year in all states.
