Khartoum, Jan. 28 (SUNA) - President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Basher, has affirmed the government keenness to complete the peace process in Darfur and to boost the services and development efforts.
This came when President Al-Bashir met Thursday at the Secretariat General of the Council of Ministers the Joint Special Representative of the United Nations' Secretary General and the African Union in Darfur, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari. President expressed at the meeting his appreciation of the role being played by UNAMID to support the national efforts for maintaining stability in Darfur. Prof. Gambari told reporters that his priorities during the coming period will focus on supporting the Joint Mediator of the United Nations and African Union for Darfur, Djibril Bassole, to make his mission a success, maintaining security and stability in Darfur, enabling the civilians to return to their home villages, and strengthening the Sudanese - Chadian relations.
