Khartoum, Jan. 26 (SUNA) - The National Congress Party has declared it is withdrawing all of its candidates in the geographical constituencies where representative of other parties' members in the government of national unity stand.
The party has also said it is not naming any candidate to compete for the post of the President of the government of Southern Sudan. The decision was officially conveyed to the Sudan People's Liberation Movement SPLM, by the vice President Ali Osman Mohamed Taha .The party has pointed out in press conference addressed by Secretary of Media at the party, Fatahi Shaila, the State Minister for Information and Communication Dr Kamal Obied, and by ustaz Ahmed Haroon, Governor of South Kordofan State, that any candidate of a party within the Government of National Unity would be considered a candidate for the National Congress party .They said the party has instructed its membership to back the candidate of such a party in the coming election. They also said this is applicable with regard to the candidates affiliated to the Senior Assistant to the President of the republic, Mini Arko Minawi, Galal Yusuf Al Digair, Dr Al Hibir Yusuf Nour Dayem, Dr Al Sadeq Al Hadi, and a number of officials of the Democratic Unionist Party, through the consultation that took place earlier .
