Khartoum/ 28/1/ Suna/ Receiving the nomination applications of April General Elections for the positions of the President of the Republic, the president of South Sudan government, the states walis , membership of the national Assembly and the legislative Council for South Sudan and the states legislative councils.

 was closed yesterday evening Wednesday the 27th of January 2010. The national elections commission and the election headquarters of South Sudan and the higher elections committees in the states have witnessed active movements ,hard and continuous work in a race of the nominees from the different political parties and the independents to submit their nominations documents before the closing date .The presidential election has great concern in and out of the Sudan. According to the nominees, their commissioned and the observers, 22 nominees have presented applications for the position of the President of the Republic, some of them have completed the procedures and they are Omar Hassan Ahmed Albashir for the National Congress Party, Abdallah Deng Nyal for the peoples congress party, Dr. Fatima Ahmed Abdul Mahmoud for the Sudanese Democratic socialist party, Abdullahi Ali Ibrahim as an independent, Mubarak Alfadil ALmahadi for the Umma reformation and renewal party , Mohamed Ibrahim Nugud for the Sudanese Communist Party, Muneer Sheikh Aldien for the New National Democratic party, Yassir Saaeed Arman for the Sudanese Peoples Movement , Abdul Aziz Khalid for the Sudanese National alliance, Alsadiq Almahadi for the Umma National Party , Hatim Alsir Sikingo , Mohamed Ahmed Jiha independents .Lieutenant General Police Alhadi Mohamed, chairman of the elections technical committee at the national elections commission said in a statement to SUNA that the committee is still reviewing the submitted nominees documents and will announce the first list for those who has been approved as nominees for the position of the president of the Republic. He pointed out that the lists of voters will be announced on Saturday, January the 30th , while the period for receiving appeals will be during January 31 till February 6. According to his statement the final lists of the candidates will be declared on February. He added that the commission has not yet determined the number of those who has complete capacity and qualified for the candidacy and the commission will later announce officially the nomination situation for the other position included in April National elections .
