Khartoum, Nov. 3 (SUNA) - Sudan government and the US Envoy to Sudan, Scott Gration reviewed Tuesday the problems facing the peace process in Darfur and means of removing these obstacles. Member of the government delegation, Mohamed Yousif Abdalla, pointed out in press statement following the meeting, which
included the Presidential Advisor, Dr. Ghazi Salahuddin, the State Minister for Culture, Sports and Youth, Dr. Amin Hassan Omer as well as the US official and the accompanying delegation, that the obstacles include the differences between the armed movements on leadership and grass roots levels and the disagreements among the displaced people and the Darfurian groups. The minister expressed hope that the coming negotiation session in Doha would result in a comprehensive agreement that include all the armed movements, attributing his optimism to the participation of all the movements in the coming talks. Dr. Amin Hassan Omer said the talks touched on general remarks on the US strategy which is currently being studied by Sudan's government. On the coming talks in Doha, the minister said that all the efforts are now being mobilized to unite the armed movements, expressing hope that the negotiations would be successful. IF/MO
