Abuja, Oct. 28 (SUNA) - Vice - President of the Republic, Ali Osman Mohamed Taha, is due to present Thursday Sudan address before the Summit of the African Peace and Security Council, which is scheduled to begin Thursday morning in the Nigerian capital, Abuja.
Sudan address at the summit will tackle the situation in the country, the peace process and the ongoing efforts to achieve a lasting solution for Darfur issue. The opening sitting of the summit will be addressed by the President of Nigeria and current chairman of the African Peace and Security Council, Umaru Musa Yaradua, and Chairman of the African Union Commission and a number of heads of state and leaders of delegations. SUNA learned that the former South African President and chairman of the African work team on Darfur issue, Thabo Mbeki, will present at the summit the report of the team on its mission. Taha would meet on the sidelines of the summit with a number of African presidents and heads of delegations. MO/MO
