Khartoum, Oct. 28 (SUNA) - The government affirmed that the American administration's decision on renewing of its sanctions against Sudan was not a surprising one and included nothing new.
In a statement to SUNA, the spokesmen of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Muawiya Osman Khalid, said that the American decision was a sorrowful measure and will not help in any way the process for realizing peace and stability in Sudan. He said that this American decision is regarded as one which is threatening to peace and stability in the country. Khalid said that after the announcement of its so-called strategy toward Sudan and the declaration of its commitment to boost realization of peace and stability in Sudan, the United States should have refrain from the renewing of its sanctions on Sudan in order to prove its credibility and will to apply the objectives that it has already declared.
