New York, March 2 (SUNA) - Minister of Social Welfare and Insurance Security, Amira Al-Fadail, met the US Envoy to the United Nations, Susan Rice, in presence of Sudan's permanent Envoy to the United Nations, Ambassador Dafallah Al-Hajj Ali, and the Deputy Permanent Envoy, Ambassador Idris Ismail.

The meeting focused on the government's efforts to address the humanitarian issues in South Kordufan State as well as the keenness on the safety and welfare of the Sudanese people.

The Minister affirmed in this context that Sudan would not allow the humanitarian Organizations to distribute any stuff that might prolong the conflict and suffering of the citizens under the veneer of distributing relief stuff.

The meeting further touched on the tripartite initiative of the League of Arab States, the African Union and the United Nations in extending relief stuff to the affected people in South Kordufan.

The US Envoy to the UN, Susan Rice, initially accepted the initiative, explaining that the USA would study this initiative before taking any stance.

The meeting also touched on the situations of the Southern Citizens in Sudan after 8 April. The Minister affirmed that Sudan is keen to establish god relations with the State of South Sudan as well as the safety of the Southerners in the North, excluding targeting them after 8 April in a view that targeting foreigners is not a habit of the hospitable Sudanese people.
