President Al-Bashir Calls for Establishment of Commission for Transparency and Combating of Corruption to be Formed from Civil Society Organizations

Khartoum, Feb. 3 (SUNA)- President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, has affirmed establishment of a commission for transparency and combating corruption, stressing the keenness of the government to apply the punishment on any one who is convicted in a corruption case, and referred to the steps adopted by the government in this respect.

Interviewed by the Blue Nile TV, Al-Shirouq TV, the National TV and the Sudanese Radio Friday evening, President Al-Bashir said that any who has evidence on corruption of any official shall provide this evidence to the concerned authorities, stressing that no one is exempted from the rule of law.
He said that any official in the state is obliged to present a declaration of wealth, indicating that these are around 90,000 declarations of wealth at the Attorney General.
President Al-Bashir said that the number of cases of violation against public money, according to the report of the General Auditor, were 39 cases, and the violated fund was 5.208 million pounds.
