Khartoum, 24 (SUNA) - Assistant of the President of the Republic and Deputy Chairperson of the National Congress for Party's Affairs, Dr. Nafie Ali Nafie, affirmed that the incidents happened Tuesday in Nyala, the capital of the State of South Darfur did not reflect a people's refuse to the newly- appointed Wali (governor) within the re-division of the region in implementation of the Doha Accord.
He pointed out that the Wali was widely welcomed by the people of the state, adding that the gathering and demonstration of some persons did not express the stances of all the people in the state.
Dr. Nafie said that the issue could be studied although they are sure that the new Wali has wide acceptance in South Darfur which is equal to the acceptance that Abdal-Hamid Musa Kasha has found in East Darfur State. He explaining that Kasha has apologized for accepting the assignment due to reasons he has seen objective, adding that his apology was officially and popularly accepted and alternative Wali will be appointed.
Meanwhile, the NC Deputy Chairman for Party's Affairs described what was reported by some newspapers about the resignation of the Chairman of the NC political Sector, Dr. Qutobi Al-Mahdi, as false, explaining that Dr, Qutobi has submitted a memo demanding speeding up the amendments in the NC Political Sector.
