Khartoum, Sept. 16 (SUNA) - President of the Republic Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir and Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi held Friday evening at the Guest House joint talks on the issues of mutual interest and peace realization in Sudan.
President Al-Bashir welcomed, in press statements following the meeting, Ethiopian Premier visit, pointing out that it concentrated on the bilateral issues and peace realization in the light of Zenawi's initiative to diffuse the crisis in South Kordofan and Blue Nile states.
He expressed appreciation to the second visit of Zenawi to Sudan during a short period and to his sincere efforts he is now exerting to realize peace and to restore security to the country.
President hoped that efforts of Ethiopian Prime Minister to be culminated with success and to come out with stability and peace to Sudan for the interest of the two countries and the region.
Zenawi, meanwhile, underlined to the reporters that peace in Sudan did not only concern Sudan but the whole region, explaining that his visit to Khartoum aims to boost comprehensive peace efforts, especially in Blue Nile and South Kordofan states.
He indicated that the solution lies within the framework of united Sudan and one Sudanese army.
