The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ali Ahmed Karti, and the British State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Henry Bellingham, Tuesday held talks focusing on the latest developments in Sudan, the situation in Abyei and the pending issues in the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA)The Minister of Foreign Affairs affirmed the commitment of the government to achieve a peaceful settlement for Abyei issue as part of the Protocol on Abyei, reiterating the intention of the government to establish good relations with
the government of South Sudan after the establishment of the new state in the SouthThe Sudanese and the British sides affirmed their desire to boost the bilateral relations in the political, economic, trade and cultural aspects, highlighting on the opportunities available to strength the investment and commercial exchange between the two countriesThe British minister affirmed the keenness of his country to strengthen its cooperation with Sudan in the cultural field as well as the British role in the teaching English language in SudanMeanwhile, the Minister of Foreign Affairs met in London a number of British investors and businessmen, focusing on the investment opportunities available in the countryThe Minister of Foreign Affairs was interviewed by number of the British media and newspapers.
