Khartoum, April 28, 2011 (SUNA)- The Federation of the Sudanese Businessmen and Employers and the visiting delegation of the Lebanese Businessmen stressed the importance of enhancing coordination and implementing joint action programme to develop economic and trade relations and cooperation between Sudan and LebanonThe Secretary General of the Federation, Bakri Yosuf, told SUNA the discussions with the Lebanese business delegation focused on the need to address all challenges facing the promotion of the economic and investment relations between the two countries, explaining that the Lebanese side is keen to boost these relationsHe explained that the two sides agreed that it was a high time that the Lebanese business sectors make use of the investment opportunities available in Sudan, stressing the importance of setting up joint committees and solving impediments to facilitate the flow of trade movement and movements of the businessmen in the two countries. They also agreed to present joint recommendations to the joint Sudanese-Lebanese high committee in order to achieve the joint interestsThe Secretary General of the Sudanese Businessmen Federation highlighted the efforts being undertaken by the State in canceling fees and duties and reducing production cost in order to enable the Sudanese exports compete in the international markets, affirming the commitment of the Federation to address the challenges and impediments facing the activation of trade and investment between the two countries besides establishing a sort of special mechanism to deal with the Lebanese businessmenThe meeting affirmed the important role played by the Lebanese Businessmen in boosting relations of economic cooperation besides enhancing coordination with regard to the certificate of origin of the Inter-Arab Trade Convention as well as creating a joint strategy for cooperation between the Federation of the Sudanese Businessmen and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in LebanonPresent at the meeting were the Chairman of the Arab Department at the Council for International People's Friendship Abdul Bassit Abdul Majed, Chairman of the Chamber of Industry Nouraddin Sa'eed, Chairman of the Chamber of Exporters Wagdi Mirgnai, and number of Businessmen.
