Khartoum, April 14 (SUNA) - The Government and Sudan Liberation Movement (SLM) Thursday signed the document of the final agreement on completing the implementation of the security arrangements as stipulated by Abuja Peace Agreement for DarfurThe document was signed by Dr. Kamal Obeid for the Government's side and Yagoub Mohammed Al-Malik, the Deputy Chairman for the SLMAddressing the signing ceremony at the premises of the Ministry of Information, Dr. Kamal Obaid said the document is a real addition to the successes achieved in Darfur issue, explaining that all the security arrangements were completed and that the SLM with this agreement will embark on direct political workThe Minister affirmed the keenness of the Government to cooperate with SLM in addressing all the issues of Darfur in the coming period. He expected the coming period to be a constructive and successful period for the SLM. The Minister has pointed out that they would enter this stage with the same determination and goodwill of Abuja agreementThe Deputy Chairman of the SLM, Yagoub Mohammed Al-Malik, said the signing of the document marks a cornerstone in the confidence building between the Government and the Movement in order to implement the remaining items in Abuja Peace AgreementHe further expressed happiness over the signing of the agreement, saying that the Sudan Liberation Movement would remain active in the Sudanese political arena, revealing that it would work to hold its General Conference soonest as possibleMF/MABack
