Khartoum, Feb. 21 (SUNA) - Sudan and China Monday signed at the Ministry of Finance and National Economy two agreements of 160 million Chinese Yuan, in presence of Minister of Finance and National Economy, Ali Mahmoud, and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of China. Zhai Jun, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs The first agreement, amounting to 100 Million Chinese Yuan, is a gift from China for implemenattion of humanitarian aid projects in Darfur states as well reconstruction in eastern Sudan and projects of economic and technical cooperation between the two countries
The second agreement, amounting to 60 Million Chinese Yuan, as an interest-free loan that would be allocated for economic and technical projects
The agreements were signed by the acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance and National Economy, Mustafa Hawli, while the Chinese Ambassador to Sudan, Li Chengwen
The Undersecretary commended in his address on the occasion the great cooperation and assistance that China extended to Sudan in the past decades
He expressed Sudan determination to strengthen its financial and economic relations toward enhancing the standards of living in Sudan as well as realization of the strategic goals
The Chinese Ambassador to Sudan, Li Chengwen, expressed his pleasure on the presence of the Chinese Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs in the signing ceremony of the two agreements, a matter which was apparent message that the relations of friendship linking China and Sudan will be retained and consolidated
