Khartoum, Jan. 11 (SUNA) - The delegations of the European and African Parliaments have commended during their meeting with the Chairman of the South Sudan Referendum Commission (SSRC), Prof. Mohamed Ibrahim Khalil, Tuesday the civilized way and the free and fair voting in the referendum of southern Sudan and praised the good organization of the referendum by the SSRC
Meanwhile, the senior official of South Sudan referendum Commission, Ambassador Hassan Jad Kareem, said to SUNA that Chairman of the Commission received the European and African parliamentary delegations, at the headquarters of the Commission and was informed about their views and observations concerning the ongoing referendum process
Ambassador Kareem indicated that members of the African and European parliamentary delegations visited polling stations in the North and South to have a closer look at the vote process and affirming that the citizens of Sudan are practicing their rights in a civilized way and that they have not recorded any problems during their tours
