El-Kurmok, Jan. 5 (SUNA) - The delegations of the government of the Blue Nile and the Ethiopian Bani Shangoul Region discussed in Al-Kurmok the situation of some 315 Ethiopian nationals in El-Kurmok at a time when more Ethiopians are expected to enter Sudan via El-Kurmo town
The Governor of Bani Shangoul Region called for classifying the Ethiopian citizens and to identify the reasons behind their arrival to Sudan, announcing that he will discuss their situation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The Governor of Bani Shangoul also expressed his hope that more Customs check-points would be established along the border in order to prevent the smuggling phenomenon
Meanwhile, the Wali (governor) of Blue Nile State, Malik Aggar, called for opening the borders between the two countries and called on the Commissioner of El-Kurmok and his Ethiopian counterpart to hold two meetings every week to get acquainted with the general situation and to work for solving the pending issues
It is to be noted that the meetings, which were concluded Wednesday, discussed the impacts of south Sudan referendum on the region as well as the agenda of the coming meeting which will be held in early February in Asosa, Ethiopia. MFMO
