Khartoum, Nov. 7 (SUNA)- The two partners to Comprehensive Peace Agreement(CPA) - the National Congress and Sudan People Liberation Movement (SPLM) began meetings Sunday at Secretariat General of the Council of Ministers in the presence of American envoy for peace in Sudan, Scott Gration, and the Special Representative of UN Secretary General in Sudan, Haile Menkerios
The Presidential Advisor for Security Affairs, Sallah Abdalla, chaired the side of the National Congress in the meeting, while the SPLM Secretary General Bagan Amum, chaired the SPLM party
Chairman of the African Union( Panel on Sudan, Thabo Mbeki, said in a press statement that the meetings will discuss several issues, top of them are Abyei, measures pertinent to holding the referendum of south Sudan, demarcation of borders d between north and south Sudan, the people's consultations in South Kordofan and the Blue Nile and the relations between the north and south Sudan regardless of the result of the referendum
Mbeki pointed out that the five-day meetings, which started Sunday, will also review issues relating to the citizenship, the political and economic cooperation framework between the north and the south and the issue of oil
He expressed hope that the two partners would reach a deal during these meetings
