Khartoum, Aug. 30 (SUNA) - The First Vice - President of the Republic and President of the Government of South Sudan (GoSS), Gen. Salva Kiir, Monday received in his office at the Republican Palace the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Peter Adok, who informed Kiir on the higher education performance and the result of the student's admission and the process for transfer of a number of universities to the headquarters in south Sudan
In a statement to the press after the meeting, the minister said that a number of faculties of the Universities of Juba, Bahral-Ghazal and the Upper Nile are operating at their headquarters in the south, while their faculties of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine are carrying out their activities in Khartoum, referring to the efforts to provide finance for the transfer of these faculties to the south
Dr. Adok said that two invitation were extended to the First Vice President and President of the Government of South Sudan, the first was from the University of Imam Al-Hadi, to award him the Honorary Doctorate in Political Science, while the second invitation relates to laying down the foundation stones for a number of faculties of the International Africa University in Khartoum in next November
