khartoum, AuG. 23 (SUNA) - Experts of the International Agency for Atomic Energy, the Sudanese Agency for Atomic Energy, the representatives of the Ministry of Dams and Electricity, Security and Intelligence and the Civil Defense Organs have embarked on intensive meetings Monday at the headquarters of the Civil Defense Authority for conducting a feasibility study for the establishment of the first Sudanese nuclear reactor for the scientific research purposes following the approval of the IAAE
The Director General of the Sudanese Agency for Atomic Energy, Prof. Mohamed Ahmed Hassan Al-Tayeb, addressed the inaugural meeting affirming the importance of possessing the technologies for using the peaceful and secured atomic energy in Sudan. He assued the importance of the research reactor to enhance the infrastructures in Sudan
Prof. Al-Tayeb tackled the ongoing preparations for the implementation of the project for possession of a nuclear reactor to generate electricity for meeting the critical and increasing need for energy in Sudan
The representative of the IAAE reviewed the purpose of the delegation's visit to Sudan and its participation in the meetings
