Khartoum, Aug. 22 (SUNA)- President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, received in his office at the Republican Palace Sunday the Wali (governor) of Khartoum State, Dr. Abdul-Rahman Al-Khidir, who acquainted President Al-Bashir with the outcome of his recent visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran
In a press statement after the meeting, President Al-Bashir said that he informed President Al-Bashir on the agreement which he signed with the Iranian Exports Bank for funding Abu-Si'id Water Station for producing 200,000 cubic meters of water per day, explaining that an Iranian company will begin implementation of this project in the coming days
Dr. Al-Khidir said that another agreement was also reached for purchasing 220 Iranian buses and 50 ambulance vehicles from Iran
The Wali said that he also acquainted President Al-Bashir with the outcome of his talks with Iranian President on the bilateral relations and ways to bolster them further in the political and economic fields, besides visits to a number of Iranian companies and his talks with Iranian officials for boosting the economic partnership between Sudan and Iran in the fields of infrastructures, tourism and sciences
Meanwhile, Dr. Al-Khidir said that an integrated programme was set up to tackle the issue of increase of prices through adoption of some policies, referring to the difficulty of direct intervention under the adopted policy of prices' liberalization policy
He said the state has worked out a project for importation of 6000 buses to replace the small-size transport vehicles within a period of three to four years
