Al-Fasher, August 22 (SUNA) - The Netherlands has affirmed its support to the government's short and long-term plans for the voluntary repatriation of the Internally Displaced People (IDP) in Darfur to their home areas

he Netherlands Ambassador to Sudan, who visited Al-Fasher, the capital of North Darfur State, and met the Deputy Wali (governor), Idris Abdalla Hassan, reviewed the efforts being exerted by his government in Darfur and its contribution in support of the war affected-areas in the region through the Joint Assessment Mission, especially in the field of water

The ambassador said that his visit comes in the context of the Netherlands concern with the developments and the situation in Darfur and identifying the needs through holding of meetings with the concerned officials and inspection of some areas in the region

The Wali lauded the distinguished relations between Sudan and Netherlands as well the Netherlands efforts for maintaining peace and stability in Darfur
