 Khartoum, Aug. 20 (SUNA)- President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, has directed a strong call supported arguments to the political parties to initiate a unanimous stance in support of the unity of Sudan

In his meeting Thursday evening at the Guest House with the political forces, President Al-Bashir said that the meeting aims for deliberations about launching a common campaign for reaching the aspired goal of unity

He said that Sudan is now at the threshold of an important stage that necessitates coordinating efforts to reach a common national stand for the sake of preserving the unity, sovereignty and stability of Sudan and the integrity of its lands

President Al-Bashir called on the national forces, especially the southerners, to boost the choice of the united Sudan and to utilize Sudan political and external relations and media to launch a dialogue for acquainting with the benefits of unity

He stressed that any unity with the existence of civil war does not serve the interests of the Sudanese people in the north and the south, adding that the option of the united and peaceful Sudan is the best one for any national

He warned that the separation of south Sudan will have negative consequences on all the political parties and associations, the neighbouring countries and Africa as a whole

Meanwhile, the President of the Republic emphasized that the government is committed to holding the referendum in the fixed time and in an atmosphere of security, stability and full freedom

He said that Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM) was invited to take part in the meeting, but it apologized on ground that it did not yet determine its position concerning the separation or unity
