Khartoum, Aug 19 (SUNA)- Assistant of the President of the Republic and Deputy Chairman of the National Congress for the Party's Affairs, Dr. Nafie Ali Nafie, has reiterated the government and the National Congress keenness to make consultations with all the political forces regarding the upcoming referendum

In press conference held Thursday at the National Congress headquarters, Dr. Nafie said that the National Congress is not seeking alliance rather than creating a single integrated body with and integrated structure and budget and to be responsible for conducting fair and just referendum

He said that even Machakos Protocols enshrined the unity of Sudan through referendum and adopting the system opted for by the Comprehensive Peace Agreement

Commenting on the shaking stand of the Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM) on President Al Bashir's appeal to deliberate the referendum issue with the political forces, Dr. Nafie urged the SPLM to be courageous and open

He said that the SPLM is obliged by CPA items to work for unity, pointing to the Movement's call for separation through its media

Dr. Nafie has cited some goutes from the CPA in support of attractive unity based on agreement between the two partners

He said that obstructing the unity choice is violation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement
