Khartoum, Aug. 19 (SUNA) - The Council of Ministers, chaired by the President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, was informed in its regular meeting Thursday on the situation of the floods and rainfall

The spokesman of the Council of Ministers, Dr. Omer Mohamed Salih, said in press statement following the meeting that the report on the floods situation was presented by the Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources, Engineer Kamal Ali Mohamed. He said the report referred to directives given

to the civil defence organs in all the concerned states to take the required measures and to be alert to confront any negative effects that may result from the rise of the Nile water to protect the people and their propterties

The Cabinet also approved the two recommendations of the Minister of Finance and National Economy, Ali Mahmoud Mohamed, on the exemption of pesticides from the value added tax and the continuation of the fees reduction on sunflower from 40 % to 10 % till the end of the current year
