Khartoum, August 17 (SUNA) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ali
Karti, has affirmed the government full commitments to the agreements
that it has signed with the United Nations and African Union Mission
in Darfur (UNAMID) and the provision of the required assistance to the
mission to enable it to implement its mandate perfectly .
This came when the minister met Tuesday with the UNAMID Chairman,
Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, and expressed Sudan appreciation to the role
being played by the mission in Darfur.
The minister called on the mission to reactivate its expected role for
realization of comprehensive peace and security in Darfur as it is
considered a basic partner in this connection.
Karti also expressed his confidence that the UNAMID is part of the
solution of the issue of Darfur, affirming Sudan contribution to
making a success the peace- keeping being carried out through the
joint mission in Darfur.
