Al-Obeid, August 15 (SUNA) - The Executive Director of Um- Ruwaba Locality of North Kordufan State, Abdalla Hassan Awad Al-Kareem, revealed that some 245 villages were partially affected by the floods and heavy rainfall, while 12 villages were totally damaged, in addition to six schools and education institutions

He said in a statement to SUNA some 46 houses in Um-Ruwaba town were partially affected by the rains, while four houses were totally affected besides 5,960 feddans cultivated with crops

He said that the Emergency Chamber of the locality is now providing the affected people and areas with the shelter (tents, plastic sheets, etc), in collaboration with the Emergency Committee of North Kordufan State, affirming that the Engineering Department of the Locality has taken the necessary arrangements in this regard
