Khartoum, Aug. 15 (SUNA) - Vice President of the Republic, Ali Osman Mohamed Taha, has appreciated the role being played by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in consolidation of Sudan relations regionally and internationally and in serving the national interests
In a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ali Karti, at the Republican Palace Sunday, Taha got acquainted with the performance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its future plans
Following the meeting, Karti said that his ministry gives a special concern to Darfur issue and the referendum in the south Sudan
Karti referred to the accomplishments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs ifor consolidating Sudan cooperation and relations with the sister and friendly countries and the regional and international organizations, a matter that was reflected in their strong stances in rejection of the allegations of the so-called International Criminal Court (ICC), particularly the African Union and its member states and Sudan Arab and African nieghbours. In addition to the contacts, cooperation and relations with countries in eastern Europe, South America and Asia
The Minister of Foreign Affairs also pointed to the plan of his ministry for participating effectively in the meetings of the United nations, scheduled to begin on September 14 and due to last for two month
