Khartoum, Aug. 8 (SUNA) - President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, has stressed the importance of expanding the prestige of the state and securing the lives of all the citizens in Darfur and their propertiesThis came when President Al-Bashir received the Wali (governor) of South Darfur State, Dr. Abdal-Hameed Musa Kasha, at the Republican Palace Sunday
Dr. Kasha informed President Al-Bashir on the security situation in the state, particularly after the incidents at Kalma displaced people camp and the measures adopted by the state's government in this respect
The Wali also acquainted President Bashir with the humanitarian situation and the conditions of the citizens and the internal displaced persons (IDPs), the efforts of disarmament as well as the development and services in south Darfur
The President of the Republic asserted his keenness to support all the projects of the state
Dr. Kasha affirmed in press statement his government will not allow committing of any crimes that might affect the sovereignty of the homeland and endanger the lives of the citizens and their belongings
He announced that his government submitted an official application for handing over all the culprits in Kalma camp incidents so as to be brought before the justice after a number of citizens had filed criminal suits against the assailants
He said that his government suggested, during meetings with the UNAMID officials, establishment of joint units to boost the security and stability in the area
The Wali reviewed the efforts that his state has exerted to provide humanitarian aid to the IDPs following the start of their voluntary return to home villages, referring to the political address that his government adopted for bolstering the unity of rank far away from tribalism and regionalism
