 Khartoum, August 9 (SUNA) - The Presidential Advisor, Dr. Mustafa Osman Ismail, Sunday received the Joint Special Representative of the United Nations and the African Union Mission in Darfur (UNAMID), Professor Ibrahim Gambari

The meeting focused on the activities of the UNAMID in the past period, the outcome of the recent African Union Summit in Kampala, the meeting of the UN Security Council as well as the recent incidents in Kalma camp of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPS)

Prof. Gambari affirmed at the meeting the keenness of the UNAMID to cooperate and to coordinate efforts with the government' authorities in order to fulfill the mission's mandate

Meanwhile, the Presidential Advisor commended outcome of the African Union Summit in Kampala and affirmed Sudan support to the UNAMID

He stressed the importance of adherence to the principle of transparency and coordination with the authorities and refrain from protecting the criminals who hamper the peace process and the stability in Darfur
