 Khartoum, Aug. 1 (SUNA) - President of the Republic Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir has directed the Ministry of International Cooperation to perform its leading function in planning and follow-up of the implementation of the development goals of all the international and regional organizations alongside revision of the mechanisms of the assistance management and its different structures

President Al-Bashir, receiving Dr. Jalal Al-Degair, the Minister of International Cooperation at the Republican Palace Sunday, urged firm coordination among all partners at the different levels of government for the unification of the means and the rules of the general performance of the international cooperation

Dr. Al-Degair said to SUNA that the meeting focused on the arrangement of work inside his ministry during the coming stage via a number of suggestions to create an effective management for the policies and programmes of the international cooperation including strengthening the role of the ministry in the drive and direction of the official development assistances to be more effective in support of the unity, peace and development process in the country

The minister affirmed that the ministry will carry out its leading role in linking the donors' policies with the government socio-economic policies either at the level of the international and regional institutions or at the level of the countries of the bilateral cooperation

Dr. Al-Degair added that the said measures require the ministry to lead the national efforts to develop an strategy for the aid to be binding framework for the cooperation between the donors and the various organs of the state including the civil society organizations, stressing the necessity of following-up the implementation of this strategy
