Al-Fasher, July 28 (SUNA) - The Joint Special Representative of the United Nations and the African Union in Darfur, the Chairman of the United Nations African Mission in Darfur (UNAMID), Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, has describbed the absence of the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) and the Sudan Liberation Movement from Doha negotiations as regrettable
The UNAMID Chairman indicated in his regular report which he presented, Tuesday before the United Nations Security Council that Doha negotiations are progressing well due to the efforts being exerted by the Chief Mediator and the Qatari government, calling on the Security Council to renew its call on the JEM and Abdul Wahid Nur to join Doha peace talks to reach an agreement before the end of the current year
Prof. Gambari announced that his mission is currently laying out the final touches for the political dialogue in Darfur which completes the peace negotiations in Doha, pointing that the movement of the mission, in this connection, includes the displaced, the refugees, representative of the civil society, the newly-elected MPs of the legislative councils in Darfur states besides Darfur MPs in the National Assembly and Federal Ministers to reach the root causes of the problem of Darfur
