Khartoum, June 10 (SUNA) - The government affirmed that it will continue extending all the required facilities for the United Nations and African Union Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) to enable it to perform its mission, especially the issuance of entry visas for the mission's personnel and other administrative facilities The acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mutrif Siddig, affirmed upon receiving the UNAMID Chairman, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, the government commitment to coordinate stances
with the UNAMID through the Tripartite Mechanism to realize the mission's basic objectives Meanwhile, Prof. Gambari said that the UNAMID will adopt the openness policy with all the concerned parties in Darfur ntil reaching a settlement to Darfur issue, adding that he toured a number of Arab, African and European countries in this regard He expressed his appreciation over the existing level of cooperation between the government and the UNAMID with regard to dealing with the situation in Darfur, referring to the efforts he exerted to encourage the armed movements to participate in Darfur peace negotiations
