US Envoy Arrives in Wau

 Wau, August 22 (SUNA) - The US envoy for Sudan, Gen. Scott Gration, arrived Sunday in Wau in the context of his tour to the four States of the Greater Bahra -Ghzal

Gration was received at the airport by the Deputy Governor and Minister of Local Government who briefed Gration on the security situation in the state, referring to the peaceful co-existence prevailing in the state and the readiness of the state for holding the referendum in its fixed time

Meanwhile, the American envoy affirmed that the US administration mission is concentrating efforts to boost the implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) and holding of the referendum

NHI to introduce health insurance in southern states

Khartoum, Aug. 21 (SUNA)-Director of Medical Care in the National Health Insurance, Dr Abdallah Hussein said the directorate is about to finalize health insurance plan in ten southern states

The National Insurance is ready to execute the programme which will initially target 50,000 people, carry out about 2000 eye surgeries and hand free eye glasses, he said. AH/BT

 

 

Khartoum State to import 250 buses from Iran

 Khartoum, Aug. 21 (SUNA)- Khartoum State has concluded a contract for importing 250 buses and 50 ambulances from the Islamic Republic of Iran, announced Dr Abdel-Rahman Al Khidir, Khartoum State Wali (Governor)

The contract is funded by the Iranian Exports Bank

President of Togo arrives in Khartoum Sunday

Khartoum, Aug. 21 (SUNA) - The President of the Republic of Togo, Faure Gnassingbé, will arrive in Khartoum Sunday on a short visit to Sudan during which he will hold talks with President of the Republic Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir on bilateral relations, means of boosting cooperation between the two countries and issues of mutual concern at the regional and international levels

President Gnassingbe will be accompanied by the Ministers of Interior, Local Government, Tourism, Youth and Sports and Social Affairs

Ministry of Minerals to introduce advanced remote sensing apparatuses

 Khartoum, Aug. 21 (SUNA)-Ministry of Mineral is planning to introduce remote sensing apparatuses to determine the location of minerals, announced Minister of Minerals, Dr Abdel-Bagi Al Geilani

In statement to SUNA, the Minister said the Ministry is also planning to upgrade the staff and reshape geological research centres in the states so as to develop mineral industry and contribute effectively in the national economy. AH/BT
