Dr. Piong Meets Australian Ambassador

Khartoum, Aug. 23 (SUNA) - The Cabinet Affairs Minister, Dr. Luka Biong received Monday at the Secretariat General at the Council of Ministers the Australian Ambassador to Khartoum and reviewed with her a number of issues top of them is the current political situation in the country, especially concerning the referendum of South Sudan

El-Fasher, Aug. 23 (SUNA)- The Commissioner of Al-Tina Locality, North Darfur State, Jaafar Bushara Ibrahim, has discussed with the Head of the Civil Affairs Department of the UN and African Union Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) and number of the national non-governmental organizations the best means to provide the humanitarian services to the citizens affected by the security incidents in Darfur

The meeting also discussed means of re-constructing and maintenance of schools, wells, dams and health utilities in the locality

 Khartoum, Aug. 22 (SUNA)- President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, received in his office at the Republican Palace Sunday the Wali (governor) of Khartoum State, Dr. Abdul-Rahman Al-Khidir, who acquainted President Al-Bashir with the outcome of his recent visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran

In a press statement after the meeting, President Al-Bashir said that he informed President Al-Bashir on the agreement which he signed with the Iranian Exports Bank for funding Abu-Si'id Water Station for producing 200,000 cubic meters of water per day, explaining that an Iranian company will begin implementation of this project in the coming days

Al-Fasher, August 22 (SUNA) - The Netherlands has affirmed its support to the government's short and long-term plans for the voluntary repatriation of the Internally Displaced People (IDP) in Darfur to their home areas

 Khartoum, Aug. 22 (SUNA) - The Minister of International Cooperation, Dr. Jalal Yousif Al-Degair, has issued a ministerial decree forming a committee to following-up works of the Sudanese - Ethiopian higher committee

The decision established three sectors, which are the political, economic and social sectors, composed of a number of ministries and the concerned parties
